My final few days aboard. Bridges and more bridges, and a boatyard in the fog. A departure as I head back north.

We power through GA, stay at an unexpectedly nice marina, and contend with fog on our way to Floridian warmth.

We reach and explore Charleston. We hide out from another gale, and I run errands. A water pump dies, and is replaced.

A short day steaming from the swamps of Bucksport to the charming town of Georgetown, SC. A stop at a local maritime museum, and a surprising amount of history.

The gale subsides, we sail for Beaufort, and our crew shrinks by one. A pair of jeans give up the ghost.

More bridges, as we travel down the ditch, and a tricky night passage across Albemarle Sound towards the Alligator River.

We motorsail through the night down the Chesapeake Bay, hitting some rough conditions and contending with water in the bilge, seasickness, and bitter cold.
